Preamble:
LWH Ministries, Inc was established “to do good” in local and overseas communities. Doing good takes on any form of assistance rendered to individuals or organizations that contribute to meeting needs and enhancing health, wellness, and positive growth.
Each project will be discussed in the form of a project proposal and voted on by the board of directors before planning and execution begin.
To have established purposes in the bylaws, we outlined seven major purposes. The bylaws may be amended at any time to accommodate any project that contributes to building up communities without regard to religion, race, gender, private or public organizations.
For each of the purposes stated on the certificate of incorporation, the founders of this organization had the following vision:
1. Purpose #1 and #6 – Educational Activities
a. Construct courses that teach the principles, concepts, and practical applications presented in the book Love, Wellness, and Happiness: Discover Your Inner Warrior, Miracle-worker, Lover, and Ruler. These courses may be adapted and marketed to different audiences and offered in-person or online.
For example, we are currently in discussion with a public high school and a community college to establish the course "Love, Wellness, Happiness, and the Self-Examined Life." This course will have a research component to study the effects on the participants after the course with follow-up for fifteen years.
We plan to offer the course for college credit to high school seniors at more than one high school within the service area of the college. We estimate data collection and management over fifteen years to cost $25K for each school. Our vision is to raise $100K to leave in endowments to the schools so that this research may be completed. (These numbers will be adjusted as we plan each project with more accurate costs analyses.)
As part of the curriculum in this course, students will engage in two physical activities which may yield health benefits throughout their lives: gardening and pickleball.
b. Short courses will be developed and offered online or in-person as instructors are available. A registration fee may be required, or participants will be asked to contribute to the organization if they feel benefitted by the course.
2. Purpose #2 – New Construction, Renovations, and Equipment for Non-Profit Schools
a. The first such project is the Adventist Pioneers Primary School in Richland Park, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. (See description on earlier pages of this website.) We aim to raise $1,000,000 for the construction project, and another $500,000 for equipment and possibly a school bus.
b. After the school in St. Vincent is funded, we will seek to participate in similar projects in other Caribbean nations, here in the USA, and possibly other countries such as India.
The 10-year vision is to support three school projects at a total estimated cost of $4,500,000 (USD).
3. Purpose #3 – Small Grants for Prevention of Illicit Drug Use, Addictions, and Rehab
a. We will identify established non-profit agencies which are running programs to prevent illicit drug use and rehab from addictions. The organizations will be encouraged to apply for funding assistance. LWH Ministries will evaluate, select, and raise funds to make small grants to assist in specific projects conducted by the chosen agencies.
b. We estimate raising $100,000 for this project initially and making small grants of $2,500 to $10,000 over ten years.
4. Purpose #4 – Acquire or Build a Retreat Center
a. This is the most ambitious idea that came out of the initial discussions at the formation of LWH Ministries. We envisioned a retreat compound somewhere in the Blue Ridge Mountains between the state of Pennsylvania and the state of Georgia. Here attendees will be treated to whole-person wellness programs to rejuvenate or recharge in a nature setting conducive to stress reduction, spiritual growth, and dream fulfillment.
b. Planning for this project will be activated when a major sponsor is on board with the concept. The sponsor will have major input and involvement to the extent desired to bring this project to fruition. We envision a project in the $5–10 million range.
5. Purpose #5 – Using a Christ-Centered Framework
a. As outlined in the book Love, Wellness, and Happiness, the programs and projects executed by LWH Ministries are grounded in the principles of love and growth in the qualities taught by Christ and the New Testament authors.
b. All materials used for instructional purposes grew out of adapting the foundational principles of Christianity to all belief systems. With love as the foundation, the conceptual framework focuses on what is common to all humans in optimization of whole-person function. The psychological archetypes of the warrior, the magician, the lover, and the ruler have been adopted to tie the framework together.
6. Purpose #7 – A Biannual Summit Convention
a. As the various programs of LWH Ministries get funded, we envision holding a periodic summit convention where we share reports on all projects, encourage younger folks to carry on the mission, and continue to build the donor base to support the vision. This convention will be held in a location where a not-for-profit school can benefit.
b. We estimate raising $25,000 to fund this event.
7. Summary:
For this organization to fulfill its vision and accomplish the specific projects, there will be a need to have dedicated management. Starting with a part-time position, an executive director will be hired to develop the full potential of the ministry. With the requisite skills in management and fundraising, the right person with the board of directors can steer this organization to great heights in service to humanity.
We estimate that at the full-time employee level, the position will require a base annual salary of approximately $75K plus customary benefits. The board of directors will determine when such a move is possible.
