Let’s Fund New Construction, Renovations, and Equipment for Not-for-profit Schools in the Caribbean and the USA.

Our first project…

The Adventist Pioneers Primary School, formerly, Richland Park SDA Elementary
School, Richland Park, St. Vincent & the Grenadines

This school started in 1945 in the home of church members, Joseph and Alice Bacchus. It continued as a one room school in the church with two teachers for many years. At one time, it was housed in a bamboo enclosure attached to the church. It was a simple structure with a dirt floor, and was covered with corrugated galvanized sheets, which often leaked during rainstorms. Dr. Lewis became the principal at that stage and served in that capacity for three years before he left for college and medical school.

Drs. Lewis and Bacchus were classmates throughout this elementary school and its sister secondary school. They graduated from the elementary school in 1959, and from the secondary school in 1964. They are now pooling their energies, resources, and inspiration to help fulfill the dream of the school finally having a building of its own.

Today, the school has grown to a staff of seven, with a current enrollment of one hundred and twenty-five students. Several generations of children from Richland Park and other communities in St. Vincent received their values and educational foundation at this school. Over the years, that foundation has led to many graduates establishing themselves professionally in service to mankind. Some have become physicians, educators, scientists, business owners, pastors, nurses, musicians, etc.

The educational outcomes have always been top tier. As such the school continues to attract many students from various villages around the island of St. Vincent. Besides educational excellence, parents consistently express their appreciation for the Christian values that are inculcated in their children.
After 77 years of excellent service, it is time for this school to have a building of its own. We plan to help fulfill the dream of filling this vacant lot next to the church:

  1. David Berthiaume- another benefactor of a similar church school in Massachusetts some 64 years ago! Pastor- Inwood WV Group

Wonderful project stemming from years of dedicated people of God!

I have already been touched by one of their students who currently lives to bring this worthy project to fruition! May God use you, Al Bacchus, to succeed in all your endeavors!

Thank you for your friendship- as we go forth to bring the Gospel of Jesus to souls who might not have heard except for this special learning adventure of true Church School+ other Fruit for our Master!

    1. Thanks, David! It warms my heart that you are the first to comment on our successful launch of the website! I will always treasure the memories of how our friendship started during the winter 5am prayer sessions at Martinsburg SDA. As we shared our stories, our books, personal histories, especially concerning our spouses (Carol Ann and Cathyann), we could only give glory to God for his leading in our lives. As we said: “old men’s dreams are leftovers from young men’s visions!” (We should trademark that statement! Aawwhh, forget that! Let’s keep on encouraging each other to squeeze the most out of what few years we have yet!)

  2. I am almost ninth years old and have been living away from St..Vincent since 1956. My memories of my childhood school and Christian teachers Leslie DeLaney and George Edward Trotman are still vivid today. Praise God for Christian teaching!

    1. Dear Josephine:
Thanks for your comments. We are eager to connect with as many alumni of the school as possible. Please share to those with whom you are in contact. Who were some of your classmates? Please share any other memoires of the school. We would love to know more about you and your accomplishments. It seems you lived close to the old church which was used for the school in the early days. If you are the person I am thinking about, you had a younger sister and a brother or nephew named Errol.

Thanks again for connecting with the project to construct a new building for the school.

      Blessings,
Al Bacchus (My sister, Marcella, may have been one of your classmates.)

  3. Yes! Marcella was one of my classmates. Is she alive? I know her husband too.
The Second Coming of the Lord is near at hand let’s do all that we can to finish the work and be ready to go back to spend eternity with Him.

  4. Yes Alban. Marcella was a one of my classmates
. My father Waithley W. Williams who fervently believed in Seveth-day Adventist education sent all of his children to the Richland Park Seventh-Day Adventist school.
Doctor W. Lionel Williams went through the whole process of Seventh-Day Adventist education (from Richland Park SDA Elementary School to Andrews University worked throughout the whole system and is now retired.
